Q-CTRL will showcase Ironstone Opal, the world’s first airworthiness-qualified quantum navigation system, at the Farnborough International Airshow from 20 to 24 July 2026 as a certified GPS backup for commercial and military aircraft. The system meets RTCA DO-160 safety-of-flight standards, enabling installation across piloted aircraft, helicopters, drones, land vehicles, and maritime vessels without receiving external radio signals. During flight tests, Ironstone Opal maintained RNP 0.3 accuracy for 95% of flight time, achieving a final error of only 22 meters after 365 km, outperforming strategic-grade inertial navigation systems by up to 50 times in ground trials and 11 times airborne. Q-CTRL already collaborates with Airbus and Lockheed Martin, positioning the technology for immediate deployment in GPS-denied or spoofed environments.
