Air New Zealand Unveils Forward-Facing Collins Elevation Seats for 777-300ER Retrofit

Air New Zealand has confirmed its Boeing 777-300ER Business Premier cabin will feature new Collins Elevation seats in a forward-facing layout, replacing the previously speculated reverse herringbone configuration. Each of the 44 seats includes a sliding door, lie-flat capability, and a 45cm screen with Bluetooth and USB-A/C connectivity. The Economy cabin receives ergonomically designed ZIM seats with 33cm screens, while total capacity holds at 342 seats after removing two Premium Economy positions and adding two Economy seats, including 16 Skycouch rows. The first retrofit begins March 2027, with aircraft entering service by May 2027 on long-haul routes to the US, Asia, and Australia.
