Yemen’s Houthi movement has claimed a fresh missile attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, warning airlines, airport staff and travellers against using Saudi airspace. Military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the missile hit the airport directly. Saudi Arabia had not confirmed a strike at the time of reporting, and damage or any effect on airport operations could not be verified.
The claim followed warnings from Saudi civil defence about potential danger in Riyadh and other parts of the kingdom. Houthi attacks on Saudi airports and oil facilities have continued for weeks, according to the report.
Saree renewed the group’s warning to international airlines and travellers to avoid Saudi airspace. No independently confirmed information was available on any changes to flight schedules, airport access or airspace restrictions resulting from the latest claim.
