British Airways and Mexican low-cost carrier Viva have agreed a codeshare covering domestic connections via Mexico City and Cancún. British Airways customers can book eligible Viva-operated flights under a BA flight code, combining them with international services in a single transaction. Bookings are open for travel from 28 March 2027, with the agreement covering 13 destinations in Mexico, including Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, Oaxaca and Tijuana.
The route list includes 11 destinations from Mexico City and seven from Cancún, with Guadalajara, Monterrey, Chihuahua and Tijuana served from both hubs. Other points include Veracruz, Mérida, San José del Cabo and Hermosillo from Mexico City, and León and Querétaro from Cancún.
Members of The British Airways Club can earn Avios and tier points on eligible codeshare journeys. The arrangement also allows passengers beginning their journeys in Mexico to connect through London to British Airways’ network of more than 200 destinations.
British Airways has served Mexico for more than 60 years. Viva serves more than 60 destinations and operates 110 Airbus A320- and A321-family aircraft. No flight frequencies or further operational details were provided.
