EUROCONTROL launches FlyingGreen app for aviation emissions analysis

EUROCONTROL has launched FlyingGreen, a mobile app giving aviation stakeholders access to historical and forecast fuel-burn and CO₂-emissions data. The figures can be viewed at network, state and airport levels, with users able to select years and traffic scenarios. The app also compares potential emissions reductions from fleet renewal, operational improvements, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), hydrogen and electric aircraft.

FlyingGreen provides estimates of SAF uptake and production costs, associated electricity requirements, and environmental costs, including those arising under the EU Emissions Trading System and, where applicable, CORSIA. It also links to the web platform’s climate adaptation and sustainable finance services, as well as to the full platform for more detailed analysis.

The app is intended for aviation stakeholders including governments, airports, air navigation service providers and airlines. It complements EUROCONTROL’s web-based FlyingGreen platform, which supports decarbonisation planning and climate resilience under the organisation’s Trajectory 2030 strategy. EUROCONTROL provided no further technical details on the app, including supported mobile operating systems.
