VietJetAir expects to receive more than 600 Airbus and Boeing aircraft by 2035 as it expands its long-term fleet plan alongside international network growth and wider aviation-services development. The portfolio includes 200 Boeing 737 MAX jets, 40 Airbus A330-900s and a cumulative order for 280 Airbus A321neo aircraft across its Vietnamese and Thai operating certificates.
The airline has also arranged financing for 12 Boeing 737-8 aircraft in the first half of 2026 and committed to dry-lease 10 Comac C909s. The mix points to a multi-supplier strategy spanning narrowbody and widebody capacity, with deliveries expected to support growth across both short-haul and longer-range routes.
The scale of the order book places VietJetAir among the region’s more aggressive fleet growers and will require substantial delivery, funding and maintenance planning over the next decade. Its wider strategy also links aircraft expansion to the development of ancillary aviation businesses, suggesting that capacity growth is being paired with efforts to broaden revenue streams beyond passenger flying.
