Vertical Aerospace is moving its eVTOL strategy beyond airport shuttles with a memorandum of understanding to examine service at VIC Properties’ 400-hectare Pinheirinho estate in Comporta, Portugal. The work starts with site and infrastructure planning for the piloted, four-passenger Valo and includes a possible direct link from Lisbon, framing the project as a premium destination route rather than a conventional urban hop. That matters for vertiport design, operating economics and demand capture: resort traffic can support higher yields, lower frequency and a different dispatch profile than commuter networks. The agreement is exploratory, but it extends Vertical’s push to prove commercially relevant use cases for early regional eVTOL operations.
