US Coast Guard finds debris field in search for missing Gulfstream G100 and six aboard

The U.S. Coast Guard has found a debris field off Nantucket, Massachusetts, in the search for a missing Gulfstream G100 medical transport aircraft operated by Canada-based Latitude Air Ambulance. The jet, carrying six people on a flight from Bermuda to Boston, lost contact early on 3 October, and search crews continued through the night with the Coast Guard cutter William Sparling assigned to remain on scene.

The aircraft was registered as C-GRJP and was carrying four Canadian nationals and two Bermudian nationals. The Coast Guard expanded air-and-sea operations across a wide area south of Nantucket, with HC-144 and HC-130 aircraft, MH-60 and HH-60 helicopters, and surface assets involved in the search. Officials had covered about 1,644 square miles over roughly 27 hours by the time the debris field was confirmed.

The debris discovery points to a crash or forced water impact rather than a routine diversion, although the circumstances remain unclear. No official outcome for the six people on board had been reported when the latest updates were issued, and the search remained active overnight.
