Tuifly flight to Düsseldorf diverts to Ibiza after cockpit radar fault

Tuifly diverted a Palma de Mallorca-Düsseldorf service operated by a Boeing 737 Max 8 to Ibiza on Friday evening after the aircraft’s cockpit weather radar malfunctioned shortly after take-off. The crew had intended to return to Palma, but bad weather temporarily closed the airport, forcing the unscheduled landing on the neighbouring island and delaying passengers by more than 16 hours.

Flight X32323 landed safely on Ibiza, where the radar was repaired before the journey resumed to Düsseldorf on Saturday afternoon. Passengers were provided with hotel accommodation during the overnight delay. The incident briefly disrupted a busy holiday route between Mallorca and Germany and underlined the operational impact of combining a technical fault with weather-related airport closures on short-haul leisure services.
