Portugália Airlines has signed a new Component Pool Program agreement with Embraer covering the carrier’s entire 19-aircraft E-Jet fleet operated under the TAP Express brand. The package supports 12 E190s and seven E195s used on regional routes for TAP Air Portugal, providing access to more than 300 components and services intended to improve aircraft availability as Portugália expands its operations.
The agreement, signed in Lisbon on 15 October, covers component exchanges, repairs and overhauls across multiple E-Jet systems. It is expected to reduce Portugália’s requirement to hold its own spare-parts inventory, while lowering associated storage, inventory-management and component-repair costs.
The arrangement brings Portugália back to Embraer’s support programme after a period with an alternative supplier. The airline had previously used the Component Pool Program for decades, dating back to the introduction of the ERJ145.
Portugália operates exclusively for TAP Air Portugal under the TAP Express brand, making the support agreement relevant to the availability of TAP’s regional fleet. No contract value, duration or detailed performance guarantees were disclosed.
