Syrian Air will launch direct scheduled flights from Damascus to Vienna and Copenhagen on 21 September, extending its European network beyond the Amsterdam service resumed in July. The new routes were presented by Syria’s civil aviation authority as part of a broader effort to rebuild international connectivity and restore links with Europe.
Vienna is the headline addition in the latest expansion, while Copenhagen is being introduced in the same move. The flights were visible in the booking system but were not yet open for sale at the time of reporting, and frequencies have not been confirmed publicly.
The Damascus-Amsterdam service restarted on 2 July, giving Syrian Air its first European destination in years and signalling a gradual rebuild of the carrier’s long-haul and regional network. The latest additions come amid a faster pace of route recovery in August, with the airline also restoring or launching other international services during the same period.
