Swiss private-jet charter broker Simply Jet has acquired all shares in Austrian business aviation company Fly Tyrol, adding aircraft management and charter operations based in Innsbruck. Completed in early September and disclosed publicly on 30 October, the transaction is part of succession planning for Fly Tyrol founder Helmut Eder, who plans to retire in 2027. Fly Tyrol will keep its name and retain all 14 employees.
Fly Tyrol operates four aircraft from Innsbruck, Salzburg and Bolzano. A Cessna Citation M2 and Citation CJ3+ are used for charter flights, while the other two aircraft are managed on behalf of private owners. The acquisition gives Simply Jet an established Austrian operation as well as an aircraft-management business.
Simply Jet aims to grow its managed fleet to ten aircraft by 2030. No purchase price or other financial terms have been disclosed.
