Amsterdam’s Schiphol has launched five tenders for long-term construction and maintenance framework agreements tied to its airport renewal programme, covering terminals, technical systems, aprons, operational buildings, passenger bridges, gate power and air systems, electric ground-service charging infrastructure and fire stations. The new contracts are due to start in 2028 and run for nine years, as the airport prepares for a wave of existing agreements to expire the same year.
The tender package forms part of Schiphol’s wider modernisation drive, which includes work across major airside and landside assets as it tackles renewal and overdue upkeep. One report placed the combined value of the five tenders at about EUR 2.95 billion, within a broader EUR 10 billion investment programme through 2035.
Schiphol is using the longer contract term to build more durable supplier relationships and improve delivery efficiency on complex infrastructure work. The structure is also intended to help retain technical knowledge across repeated projects as the airport moves into a prolonged phase of renewal.
