Saudia Cargo has started a new scheduled fifth-freedom freighter service between Dhaka and Frankfurt, operating twice a week with Boeing 777-200F aircraft. The route links Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh and Germany, with the first flights beginning on 14 August. The service is intended to expand dedicated cargo capacity for Bangladeshi exports to Europe, including garments, textiles, perishables, pharmaceuticals, industrial equipment and e-commerce freight.
The operation is flown by Saudia on behalf of Saudia Cargo and is routed through Riyadh, Dhaka, Jeddah and Frankfurt, before returning to Riyadh or Jeddah. The new link adds another Middle East–South Asia–Europe freighter option at a time when shippers continue to seek more direct uplift for time-sensitive cargo. For Bangladesh’s export base, particularly its apparel sector, the route offers an additional scheduled channel into one of Europe’s largest air-cargo gateways.
