SalamAir will establish Salalah’s first-ever airline base, opening bookings on Wednesday for flights that begin at the end of October under its Winter 2026 schedule. The Oman low-cost carrier will deploy Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft on initial services from the southern city in Dhofar Governorate to Jeddah, Chattogram and Calicut.
The base gives Salalah dedicated year-round international capacity beyond its traditional seasonal traffic profile and strengthens direct connectivity from the city. Winter charter services are also planned to Astana and Almaty, targeting inbound tourism from Central Asia.
The expansion adds a new operational focus for SalamAir in Oman’s south, where Salalah has long relied on limited scheduled links and seasonal demand patterns. The initial network concentrates on markets with established religious, labour and leisure travel flows, while the charter programme broadens the carrier’s reach into Central Asian source markets during the winter period.
