SalamAir will establish Salalah’s first airline base, with flights from the southern Omani city scheduled to begin at the end of October as part of the carrier’s winter 2026 programme. The low-cost airline will initially use its Airbus A320neo and A321neo fleet from the new base, with bookings opening on the same day and direct services planned to Jeddah, Chattogram and Calicut.
The move gives SalamAir a permanent presence in Salalah, in Dhofar Governorate, and expands its network depth from southern Oman. It is also intended to strengthen year-round direct connectivity from the region, which has traditionally seen more seasonal traffic.
Alongside the scheduled routes, SalamAir is planning winter charter flights from Salalah to Astana and Almaty in Kazakhstan. Tickets will be sold through the airline’s website, mobile app and authorised travel partners, while special domestic fares for Omani nationals start at OMR 9.99. The base is positioned as a strategic step in the carrier’s growth and in support of inbound tourism and regional connectivity.
