Porter Airlines has exercised purchase rights for 25 additional Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, taking its firm commitment for the type to 75 aircraft. The Toronto-based carrier is using the E2 family to expand its fleet and support a broader North American regional-jet strategy, although delivery timing, configuration and transaction value have not been disclosed.
The additional aircraft build on Porter’s rapid E2 fleet growth. Embraer reported in December 2025 that Porter had received its 50th E195-E2, with 75 firm aircraft ordered and purchase rights for a further 25. Separate financing arrangements covering up to 19 aircraft from the existing firm order have also been linked to deliveries through 2030.
Porter’s E195-E2 fleet supports network expansion from Toronto and across North America, but the available information does not establish whether the latest exercise has yet been reflected in Embraer’s reported backlog. The development comes amid wider demand for Embraer’s E2 family. Japan Airlines has ordered 16 E190-E2s for subsidiary J-AIR, with options for 10 more and deliveries scheduled to begin in fiscal 2029. ANA Holdings has also agreed to acquire eight E190-E2 aircraft, highlighting interest in the programme in both North American and Japanese markets.
