Pawan Hans has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Norway-based Noemi Aerospace, also known as Elfly AS, to explore cooperation on electric seaplane technology and other sustainable aviation solutions in New Delhi. The agreement focuses on feasibility work, technical knowledge sharing, workshops and capacity building, but does not include a purchase commitment or financial investment.
The partnership is framed around green aviation, regional connectivity and short-haul mobility, including possible applications for island routes. It also aligns with India’s Make in India agenda and broader efforts to assess electric amphibious aircraft for domestic use.
The signing took place in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu and Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha. Sunil Kumar Nagdawne represented Pawan Hans, while Eric François Lithun signed for Noemi Aerospace.
Noemi Aerospace is developing next-generation electric seaplane technology with support from the Norwegian government. The MoU creates a framework for cooperation, but the parties have not committed to procurement, exclusivity or a launch timeline.
