Paranair will halt all flights for 13 days from 30 September to 12 October as its only active aircraft undergoes major maintenance, with regular operations due to resume on 13 October. The Paraguayan carrier’s network from Asunción, including regional services to Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Salta and Jujuy, will be fully suspended during the maintenance window.
The temporary shutdown affects every Paranair route rather than a single city pair, leaving passengers to rebook or seek refunds. Travel agencies have received guidance to manage affected reservations, while customers booked directly are being told to check their status through official channels. The airline framed the pause as part of mandatory inspections and manufacturer procedures intended to maintain safety standards.
The move underscores the operational strain on a small regional carrier with limited fleet flexibility. With only one aircraft in service, scheduled maintenance removes all commercial capacity at once and is likely to shift some short-haul traffic to competing airlines across the Southern Cone.
