North America bizav activity rises 0.9% in September, beating Argus forecast

North American business aviation activity rose 0.9% year over year in September, outperforming Argus’s earlier expectation of a slight decline. The stronger-than-forecast result came despite a softer outlook and was led by fractional flying, while the monthly benchmark pointed to continued resilience in private-jet demand across the region.

Argus TraqPak data showed the September reading turning positive after analysts had projected a small year-on-year contraction. Fractional operations delivered the sharpest gain, with corroborating industry coverage indicating growth of about 7.2% in that segment, while Part 135 charter flying also remained in positive territory. The figures matter for operators and fleet planners because they track underlying utilisation trends in one of the industry’s most closely watched demand gauges.

The September result also suggested that business-jet activity held up better than expected as the market moved into the final quarter of the year. For fractional fleets in particular, the stronger showing points to sustained customer activity and supports sentiment around charter and shared-ownership demand in North America.
