Luxair has received its first two company-owned Boeing 737-8 aircraft at Luxembourg Airport, with the airline unveiling one of the jets at Findel on Friday. The delivery opens Luxair’s fleet renewal programme and adds the first owned 737-8s to its narrowbody operation, which serves short- and medium-haul routes.
Gilles Feith, Luxair’s chief executive, attended the presentation and described the arrival as the official start of the renewal drive. The airline is replacing older aircraft as it modernises its fleet, while also expanding beyond Boeing with four Embraer E195-E2 aircraft delivered earlier in 2026.
The programme is a wider investment across both aircraft families, with Luxair planning a new mix of Boeing and Embraer jets over the coming years. The 737-8 is intended to support the carrier’s network as it updates capacity and efficiency across its regional and leisure route structure.
