Lufthansa will resume Frankfurt–Nagoya service and launch a daily Frankfurt–Tokyo-Narita flight for the summer 2027 schedule, expanding its Japan network with Boeing 787-9 aircraft fitted with the Allegris cabin. The Nagoya route is due to operate three times a week from 29 March 2027, while Narita services begin on 28 March and are already open for booking.
Both routes will use Boeing 787-9s configured with 28 Business, 28 Premium Economy and 231 Economy seats. The Tokyo-Narita addition will sit alongside Lufthansa’s existing daily Frankfurt and Munich services to Tokyo-Haneda, while Nagoya returns to the schedule rather than representing a new market entry. The move responds to stronger demand for Japan and lifts the Lufthansa Group’s total Japan offering to as many as 50 weekly flights across four destinations when combined with SWISS, Austrian Airlines and ITA Airways. The group’s Japan network will cover Tokyo-Haneda, Tokyo-Narita, Osaka and Nagoya in summer 2027.
