Lufthansa Technik Philippines has broken ground on a new wide-body maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Clark International Airport, expanding its Philippine footprint beyond Manila. The 157,000-square-metre site is due to begin operations in 2028 and is expected to support around 1,200 skilled jobs, with capabilities to grow into Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 heavy maintenance.
The Clark development adds a second major base-maintenance location to LHTP’s existing operation at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Planned works include a paint shop and non-destructive testing workshops, alongside broader wide-body servicing capacity aimed at meeting rising regional demand.
LHTP already handles Airbus A330, A340 and A380 aircraft, as well as the Boeing 777, giving the Clark project a clear role in extending an established technical portfolio rather than creating a new business from scratch. The investment has been described in public reporting as at least US$100 million, with some coverage referring to it more broadly as hundreds of millions of dollars.
