Lufthansa submits binding bid for TAP Air Portugal stake

Lufthansa Group has submitted a binding bid for a minority stake in TAP Air Portugal, moving the carrier into the final phase of Portugal’s privatization process. The offer targets a long-term partnership built around TAP’s Lisbon hub and Atlantic network, while the state keeps control through a sale capped at 49.9%. Lufthansa and Air France-KLM are now the two remaining airline groups in the process, with Parpública due to assess the bids before the government sets the next step. Lufthansa has not disclosed stake size or price, leaving industrial commitments and route strategy to drive the decision.
