Lufthansa Group Appoints Lorenza Maggio as Brussels Airlines CEO

Deutsche Lufthansa AG’s Executive Board has appointed Lorenza Maggio as CEO of Brussels Airlines, effective upon predecessor Dorothea von Boxberg’s departure on 31 August 2026. Maggio, currently Chief Strategy and Integration Officer at ITA Airways, brings direct experience from the ITA integration program, a core Lufthansa Group strategic priority. She will relocate from Rome to Brussels and assume a new dual role as Executive Board Representative to the European Commission, strengthening regulatory liaison. The appointment remains subject to approval by SN Airholding’s Board of Directors, a standard requirement for Belgian airline CEO transitions. This move underscores cross-airline talent mobility within the group and signals intensified focus on European regulatory engagement.
