Lufthansa does not expect further strikes in the remaining peak summer travel period, as confidential but constructive talks continue with pilot union Vereinigung Cockpit and cabin crew union Ufo. The outlook points to a temporary easing of labour risk at the German carrier after earlier industrial action, reducing the chance of fresh disruption across Lufthansa’s schedule during the busiest weeks of the season.
CEO Carsten Spohr framed the negotiations as active and constructive, but no settlement has been reached. The current position is a forecast rather than a labour agreement, and there is no formal strike waiver or deadline for a deal.
The dispute remains commercially sensitive for Lufthansa after strike-related costs and operational pressure earlier this year. A strike-free summer would support flight stability, limit passenger disruption and help contain near-term scheduling and cost uncertainty at the group’s German operations.
