LOT Polish Airlines joins TSA PreCheck programme

LOT Polish Airlines has joined the U.S. Transportation Security Administration’s TSA PreCheck programme, allowing eligible passengers departing on its flights from participating U.S. airports to use dedicated expedited security lanes. The benefit applies to LOT’s U.S. departures, including services from New York, Newark, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco to Poland, with the programme available at more than 200 airports.

Eligible travellers typically do not need to remove shoes, belts or light jackets and may leave laptops and permitted liquids in their carry-on baggage. To use the service, passengers must add their Known Traveller Number to their LOT reservation during booking or check-in. The number can be entered through LOT’s website, mobile application or at the airport.

The TSA PreCheck indicator must appear on the boarding pass before the passenger enters the dedicated lane. A Known Traveller Number or programme membership does not guarantee expedited screening on every journey, as TSA makes the final determination for each flight. The measure applies only to security screening before departures from the United States, not to arrivals or airport-security procedures elsewhere.

LOT does not enrol passengers in TSA PreCheck or issue Known Traveller Numbers. Direct eligibility includes U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, while members of Global Entry, SENTRI and NEXUS may also qualify under the applicable programme rules.
