Lockheed Martin expands 25Forward with 11 partner organisations

Lockheed Martin has added new and expanded partnerships with 11 organisations to its 25Forward initiative, a five-year, $25 million commitment launched to mark the 25th anniversary of the 11 September attacks. The partnerships extend the programme beyond its initial $10 million contribution to the Pentagon Memorial Visitor Education Center and support work on military heritage, disaster response and services for survivors, first responders, veterans and military families.

The partners include 9/11 Day, the FDNY Foundation, Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial and Team Rubicon. The Air Commando Heritage Foundation will preserve and share the history of Air Force Special Operations. Other organisations named include Conservation Legacy, the Gary Sinise Foundation, the National Cold War Center and the Pentagon Memorial Fund.

The initiative also supports education, volunteerism and disaster preparedness. Lockheed Martin has not disclosed individual funding amounts for most of the partnerships or a detailed schedule for spending the commitment over five years. The programme is a corporate community-investment effort rather than an operational aviation development.
