Leipzig/Halle and Dresden set more autumn holiday flights than in summer

Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports are increasing their scheduled services for the start of the autumn holidays in Saxony and Thuringia, with more weekly departures planned than during the summer break. Leipzig/Halle is set for up to 200 weekly departures, while Dresden has up to 94, with traffic concentrated on Mediterranean leisure routes and a handful of feeder connections via major hubs.

For the first holiday weekend, 95 aircraft departures are planned across both airports. Leipzig/Halle accounts for 70 of those movements on Saturday and Sunday, with Antalya the busiest destination at 26 flights. Hurghada, Palma de Mallorca and Heraklion each have seven departures, while Frankfurt and Vienna provide onward connections. Dresden has 25 departures planned for the same period, led by six flights each to Frankfurt and Antalya and five to Munich.

The autumn programme is a short-term response to holiday demand rather than a structural network change. Leipzig/Halle’s weekly total compares with up to 146 in the summer holidays, while Dresden’s rises from up to 79. The schedule underlines the continuing importance of leisure traffic at both eastern German airports, alongside connecting services through Frankfurt, Vienna and Munich.
