Lockheed Martin’s Javelin joint venture and Tata Advanced Systems have signed a memorandum of understanding to co-produce the Javelin All Up Round in India. The agreement sets out plans for final assembly and integration in-country, alongside component production, as the partners expand the missile programme’s industrial footprint beyond the United States.
The arrangement names Tata Advanced Systems as the prime partner for future co-production work after an evaluation of multiple companies. Under the planned setup, sub-assembly kits and guidance electronics units would be sent from Lockheed Martin’s Troy, Alabama, facility and Raytheon’s Tucson, Arizona, plant to India for final assembly and integration.
The companies framed the effort as part of a wider push to deepen India’s defence manufacturing base and support high-tech employment. The co-production work is also intended to sustain multiyear output across the US supply chain and align with broader India-U.S. defence cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.
