Iridium Launches First Commercial GNSS Jamming and Spoofing Prevention ASIC

Iridium Communications Inc. has commenced commercial sales of the Iridium PNT ASIC, the industry’s first application-specific integrated circuit designed to prevent GNSS jamming and spoofing without exterior antennas. This 8mm × 8mm chip, weighing under 0.2 grams, delivers cryptographically secure positioning, navigation, and timing data via Iridium’s global low-Earth orbit constellation, offering a signal 1,000 times stronger than GPS that operates indoors and in urban canyons. Integration partners Skyband Systems and Solace Communications will embed the ASIC into aviation navigation hardware and the Vector positioning family respectively, addressing critical resilience gaps for operators facing escalating signal interference threats. The technology leverages Iridium’s 2024 acquisition of Satelles Inc., with interest already reported from over 150 organizations across maritime, unmanned systems, and aviation sectors since the October 2025 preview.
