The partnership targets shoulder support during repetitive lifting, directly addressing the sector’s persistent musculoskeletal strain issues in ground handling operations. Verve Motion, a Harvard University spin-out, has raised over $55 million total, with HexArmor serving as its global commercialization partner for the SafeLift™ exosuit. IAG will adapt the powered wearable device across its aviation operations, including British Airways and Iberia, to enhance operational resilience and safety. The trial focuses on reducing physical effort for workers handling thousands of bags daily, marking a concrete step toward integrating robotics into ramp operations.
