AirAsia Chief Sustainability Officer Yap Mun Ching has been designated as the inaugural ICAO Global Ambassador under the UN aviation agency’s newly launched Global Ambassadors Programme, tasked with championing future aviation talent and inclusion. The appointment, announced in Kuala Lumpur on 14 July 2026, marks the first under ICAO’s initiative to leverage industry leaders for strategic priorities in talent development and diversity. As AirAsia’s ESG lead, Yap will engage educational institutions, professional organizations, and underrepresented communities to open doors to aviation careers, break down barriers, and spark curiosity. The role underscores the sector’s growing integration of sustainability leadership with talent strategy, positioning Yap as a key voice shaping the next generation of aviation professionals while advancing ICAO’s Strategic Plan 2026–2050.
