Honeywell upgrades Dassault Falcon 2000 cockpit

Dassault Aviation will introduce Honeywell’s fourth-generation EASy IV flight deck on new Falcon 2000LXS aircraft and offer the system as a retrofit for existing Falcon 2000-series jets. The upgrade, unveiled at NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas, will replace the aircraft’s current EASy II avionics and is expected to become available for retrofit installations by 2029.

EASy IV is already installed on newer Falcon models, including the Falcon 6X and 8X. Its introduction on the 2000LXS is intended to bring the aircraft closer to a common avionics standard across Dassault’s business-jet range while extending the relevance of the existing fleet.

The system will provide upgraded displays, enhanced navigation and weather-detection functions, expanded connectivity, runway-awareness tools, flight-path visualisation and additional decision-support capabilities during critical phases of flight. Other features include 2D and 3D airport moving maps, expanded Jeppesen chart functions and a next-generation flight-management system supporting RNP approaches.

EASy IV can also be integrated with Dassault’s FalconEye enhanced-vision system, which combines visual and sensor information to support approaches in reduced visibility. The Falcon 2000LXS is a 4,000-nm business jet with short-field capability, allowing operators to modernise the cockpit without replacing the aircraft. Details on retrofit pricing, certification milestones and the precise entry-into-service date were not disclosed.
