German Airways has completed the acquisition and financing of five Embraer E190 regional aircraft, according to parent company Kolibri Beteiligung GmbH. The Cologne-based carrier arranged the financing with a specialist aircraft-financing partner on standard market terms, while the transaction remains within the financial indebtedness permitted under its bond terms.
The move supports the group’s previously disclosed fleet expansion and modernisation programme for German Airways. The airline has been repositioning its fleet around the Embraer E190 family for charter and wet-lease operations, and the latest transaction extends that strategy without changing bond covenant compliance. No aircraft registrations, delivery timing beyond the scheduled completion, or financing partner were disclosed.
