Flughafen Memmingen is spending more than €10 million on infrastructure works that include terminal expansion, apron growth and a planned turnpad at the eastern end of the runway in Memmingen, Bavaria. The project is already under way, with the airport expanding its upper terminal floor to create additional gates, particularly for non-Schengen passengers, while two new walkable aircraft stands are being added to the apron.
West-side construction work has been completed, and the turnpad is due to follow in the autumn. Managing director Ralf Schmid and infrastructure lead Dominik Stroick are among those linked to the programme, which is designed to support continued traffic growth, shorten waiting times in peak periods and improve passenger handling efficiency.
Memmingen has been growing strongly and is expecting another record summer for passengers. The airport is also planning further larger capital spending, including a later parking garage project, as it prepares for additional demand.
