Christopher J. Rocheleau is returning to the National Business Aviation Association as chief operating officer after serving at the Federal Aviation Administration. The move brings him back to the same NBAA role he held before his January 2025 appointment as acting FAA administrator, with oversight of aircraft operations as well as administrative, financial, technical and human resources functions.
NBAA President and Chief Executive Ed Bolen welcomed Rocheleau back to the association, where he will join the senior leadership team supporting business aviation members. Rocheleau spent more than two decades in FAA executive posts before joining NBAA in 2022, giving him a long background in air traffic, safety and regulatory leadership.
His departure from the FAA leaves Liam McKenna to serve as acting deputy administrator. Reuters and Aviation Week both reported the transition, which restores Rocheleau to business aviation after less than two years in senior government service.
