Düsseldorf Airport has become the first customer for ASG Airport, a new route-planning platform developed by Seabury Airline Strategy Group. Presented at the Routes World aviation conference in Frankfurt on Wednesday, the software is designed to help airports identify potential air services, assess suitable airlines and aircraft types, and support targeted commercial discussions for launching new routes.
ASG Airport analyses destinations that passengers in an airport’s catchment area currently reach through other airports. It then evaluates the commercial potential of possible routes for different airline and aircraft combinations, while accounting for seasonal demand variations.
The platform can also turn the analysis into presentation materials for meetings with prospective airline partners. Düsseldorf will use the system to support data-based route development and identify destinations that may be underserved from its market.
The introduction concerns analytical and commercial planning rather than a confirmed new service. No airline commitment, route launch date, investment value or traffic forecast has been disclosed. Contract terms, pricing and implementation timing have also not been specified.
