Dubai Aerospace Enterprise has closed its acquisition of Macquarie AirFinance, lifting the deal value to about US$9 billion after fleet changes between signing and completion. The all-cash transaction, first announced in February, brings Macquarie Group, PGGM Infrastructure Fund, PGGM and Australian Retirement Trust out of the business and expands DAE to about 1,000 owned, managed and committed aircraft. The lessor now serves more than 175 airline customers in 75 countries, with its order book stretching into the 2030s across Boeing, Airbus and ATR programmes. The close reinforces DAE’s scale in a market where balance-sheet access and placement speed are tightening lease economics.
