Condor has opened its own Technik Training Center in Mörfelden-Walldorf, near Frankfurt, giving the airline a dedicated in-house facility for aircraft mechanic training. The 1,000-square-metre centre is currently training 12 aspiring mechanics in maintenance technology, with capacity for up to 15 trainees a year as Condor builds a longer-term pipeline of technical labour.
The first training year began in early August, and the new site combines theory rooms with workshop space, workbenches and machine tools. Condor Technik management developed the concept two years ago as part of a strategy to strengthen the unit’s position as a training organisation and reduce reliance on external structures.
The programme will expand from 2027, when training in manufacturing technology and aircraft electronics is scheduled to be added. That broader curriculum is intended to support workforce development in maintenance as airlines and MRO providers continue to compete for skilled technical staff.
