RTX’s Collins Aerospace has launched ARINCDirect OpenAPI, enabling aviation operators to integrate flight-planning, trip and performance data directly into their existing digital platforms. Introduced in Las Vegas, the capability connects ARINCDirect flight-support services with enterprise systems, automating the transfer of operational information and reducing the need for manual data re-entry by flight departments.
The interface can provide flight-plan status, airspace information, trip-performance data and logbook records across connected systems. Collins Aerospace has not identified the early adopters, but those operators have already integrated the API into enterprise tools used by their flight departments.
Its modular design allows operators to configure connections around existing systems and workflows rather than replace them. The intended operational benefits include fewer manual steps for dispatchers, reduced reliance on workarounds between disconnected platforms and more consistent access to current information for crews and other users.
Nicole White, Collins Aerospace’s vice president and general manager of Connected Aviation, linked the capability to the rapidly changing schedules typical of business aviation, where flight departments require timely operational information. The launch forms part of Collins Aerospace’s wider airspace-modernisation strategy to connect aircraft, operators and the broader aviation ecosystem through more actionable data.
The company has not disclosed the API’s technical standards, commercial terms, implementation timelines or quantified efficiency gains.
