Brussels Airlines’ touring AfriConnections exhibition has reached Brussels for the final stop of its 2026 programme. The contemporary African art exhibition is on display at the Maritime Station at Tour & Taxis from 16 to 30 October, bringing together works by 15 artists from across the continent. Admission is free, extending the airline’s Africa-focused engagement beyond its air services and into a public cultural initiative.
Launched in April, AfriConnections first travelled to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, followed by Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire, Yaoundé in Cameroon and Dakar in Senegal. The Brussels presentation concludes a tour designed to circulate African contemporary art within Africa before connecting those artistic scenes with audiences in Europe.
The exhibited works come from the collection of Ifitry, an artists’ residency near Essaouira, Morocco. Brussels Airlines is supporting and promoting the project as part of its broader cultural positioning around links between Africa and Europe.
Alongside the physical exhibition, the airline is running an Art&Design digital campaign featuring videos about African artists. The initiative provides Brussels Airlines with a platform to highlight its African network and relationships while giving the travelling exhibition a wider audience.
