Barnes Aerospace buys Scotland-based ATL Turbine Services

Barnes Aerospace has acquired Dundee-based ATL Turbine Services, giving the US aerospace group its first dedicated component repair and overhaul operation in Europe. The deal adds a regional repair base for hot-section gas turbine components and expands Barnes Aerospace’s aftermarket network across civil, defence, industrial and marine turbine markets.

ATL Turbine Services brings more than 30 years of experience in refurbishment and repair work, together with capabilities covering assessment, coating, engineering and nondestructive testing. Its accreditations include CAA/FAA Part 145, AS9110C, ISO 9001 and NADCAP. Barnes Aerospace will use the Scottish business as an in-region platform to support customers across the turbine engine lifecycle and to serve buyers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa more closely.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition extends Barnes Aerospace’s repair and overhaul footprint beyond its existing global network and strengthens its presence in the aeroengine aftermarket, where proximity, turnaround time and certified repair capacity remain key commercial factors.
