BA Euroflyer Faro flight returns to Gatwick after reported window crack

British Airways flight BA2660 returned safely to London Gatwick on 13 October after a reported passenger-window crack prompted the crew to abandon its flight to Faro, Portugal. Operated by BA Euroflyer, the Airbus A321-231, registered G-EUXD, was about an hour into the journey and over Brittany, France, when it reversed course. The aircraft landed after the airline described the event as a minor technical issue.

The flight departed Gatwick at approximately 09:06 local time. AirNav Radar reported that the crew declared a general emergency while assessing the reported damage and determining whether to divert. Other reports identified possible structural damage to a right-side window panel near row 3R, although British Airways has not independently confirmed those details or that a cracked window caused the return.

Emergency ground crews reportedly met the aircraft at Gatwick as a precaution. British Airways apologised to passengers for the disruption and confirmed that teams were working to restore their travel plans. G-EUXD is expected to undergo inspection before returning to service, but the extent and cause of any damage were not confirmed.
