Wizz Air renews Lufthansa Technik agreement for AVIATAR electronic logbook

Wizz Air has renewed a long-term agreement with Lufthansa Technik to continue using AVIATAR’s electronic Technical Logbook across more than 400 Airbus A320-family aircraft. Announced at MRO Europe in Amsterdam, the deal extends a digital maintenance partnership designed to accelerate defect reporting and resolution while supporting paperless technical operations across the airline’s fleet.

The system allows flight crews to record technical defects digitally and share them in real time with maintenance controllers and engineering teams. Its integration with Lufthansa Technik’s AMOS maintenance and engineering platform enables required work to be planned and carried out within the same workflow. Completed records and supporting documents are then transferred to flydocs for digital records management.

Wizz Air joined the AVIATAR platform in 2018 and became the launch customer for the electronic Technical Logbook in 2021. EASA approved the airline’s operating procedures for the system in 2022, following an initial fleet-wide rollout covering more than 140 aircraft.

Wizz Air has reported that the system reduced calls to its maintenance control centre by more than 25%, while manual documentation work can be reduced by up to 50%. The financial terms and exact duration of the renewed agreement were not disclosed.
