Avolon has placed a firm order with Airbus for 110 aircraft, including 35 A330-900 widebodies and 75 A320neo Family jets, in a deal that lifts the lessor’s A330-900 commitment to 114 aircraft and its A320 Family commitment to about 650. The Dublin-based aviation finance company completed the order in Toulouse as part of a broader fleet strategy aimed at meeting airline customers’ growth and replacement needs.
The transaction adds to sustained demand for Airbus’s A330neo and A320neo programmes, both of which remain central to leasing companies’ fleet plans. Avolon has been building large multi-type order books to support airline expansion over several years, while also renewing fleets with newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft.
The Airbus portion forms part of a larger same-day aircraft order package spanning both Airbus and Boeing. That wider deal remains subject to approval by Bohai Leasing, Avolon’s majority shareholder. No delivery schedule, route deployment or pricing details were disclosed, and the order itself does not alter Airbus guidance.
