AIS Airlines is set to take over Airidea’s existing services in Italy, extending its presence in the market with operations from Genoa to Trieste, Bergamo, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Olbia and Alghero. The service is planned with a Jetstream 32, while the start date remains open, indicating a change in operator rather than an immediate launch.
The move points to a further step by the Dutch regional carrier into Italy’s domestic and short-haul segment. Both companies are also understood to be examining additional aircraft and a broader network, which could widen the scope of the partnership beyond the Genoa routes.
The transfer should preserve continuity on the affected links from Genoa, where regional connectivity depends on smaller aircraft and thin-route operations. The planned expansion also suggests that AIS Airlines is looking to build a more durable Italian footprint rather than limit the arrangement to a single service pattern.
