Aircalin has again delayed its SB500 and SB501 Paris rotation after a technical issue affected the aircraft assigned to the long-haul service. The disruption hit the Nouméa–Bangkok–Paris schedule and the return Paris–Bangkok–Nouméa flight, with revised operating times issued after the initial cancellation of the 10 August service.
The change affects one of the carrier’s most important intercontinental routes, linking New Caledonia with Europe via Bangkok. Aircalin moved to publish a recovery timetable rather than keep the flights grounded, indicating an operational reset across several days. The updated schedule extends through 13 August, with timings set in local time for each sector.
The event adds to a broader period of operational strain on the route, which had already been affected by an earlier disruption. For passengers, the impact spans multiple time zones and connecting banks in Nouméa, Bangkok and Paris, increasing the likelihood of knock-on delays across the network.
