Air India offers Maharaja Club status to eligible Standard Chartered clients

Air India is partnering with Standard Chartered to offer eligible affluent clients in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates Maharaja Club Silver or Gold status. The proposition, expected to become available in the coming weeks, combines premium travel benefits with the bank’s international banking and wealth-management services for customers with cross-border financial needs.

Maharaja Club benefits include priority check-in and boarding, additional baggage allowance, lounge access, upgrade vouchers and bonus Maharaja Points, with entitlements varying by tier. Gold members will also receive Star Alliance Gold status, providing access to more than 1,000 airport lounges, priority airport services and additional baggage benefits across the alliance network.

The arrangement works in both directions. Eligible Air India customers in Singapore and the UAE will be able to access Standard Chartered’s international banking and wealth-management services, including dedicated relationship management, market-outlook insights, selected events and cross-border wealth solutions.

The initiative targets so-called Global Indians whose travel and financial affairs span multiple markets. It extends Maharaja Club through a banking partnership rather than a new flight operation or co-branded payment card. Air India and Air India Express customers can earn and redeem Maharaja Points on services to 104 destinations, as well as on other Star Alliance airlines. The parties have not disclosed the financial threshold, number of eligible customers or duration of the status.
