Lufthansa Technik boosts Tulsa engine capacity

Lufthansa Technik Engine Services is expanding its engine-maintenance operation in Tulsa, Oklahoma, increasing the number of work bays from 28 to 46. The enlarged facility will support V2500, CFM56-5B/7B, Rolls-Royce Tay 611-8/8C and GTF engines, while a planned module shop will enable more work to be performed locally and is expected to help reduce turnaround times for commercial and business-jet customers across the Americas.

The module shop will broaden Tulsa’s service capabilities and improve operational flexibility by allowing engine-module work to be handled at the site. The facility has a fully digitised engine test stand and provides on-site support and short-turnaround repair services as part of Lufthansa Technik’s engine-services network.

Formerly known as BizJet International, the operation was renamed in 2024 and is now a key North American hub alongside Lufthansa Technik’s facilities in Calgary and Montreal. The expansion is expected to create more than 100 jobs by 2030, although the company has not disclosed the project’s total investment or a precise operating date for the additional bays and module shop.

To develop the required workforce, Lufthansa Technik launched an 18-month dual-training programme in early 2025. By October 2026, 24 participants had joined, with 10 completing the programme.
